Yeah. I say "soda" in the middle of pop central. Though apparently, everyone calls it "coke" where I'm from. It got Kleenexed in the southeast, but the SW and NE say "soda" like me.

Those east Wisconsin and Missourinois blotches seem to need explainig. Huh.

I went from saying Pop, to Soda and back to Pop, depending on where I was living at the time. When in Rome & all...

I do the same thing, mostly because when I slip up in either place I would likely go, the people I'm speaking to are quick to remind me I'm in soda/pop country.

I see that "soda" has a clean sweep in New England. That used to be "tonic" country -- alas, another regionalism, slowly but surely biting the dust.
