those who are in control of the language are in control of society.. Those who speak "perfect English" are at the top of our economic chain.

Not sure I agree with that... George Shrubya Bush doesn't use "perfect English", nor does Chaney. I sort of wish that was true - although it would mean that English professors would rule the country.

so true. i didn't really agree with that statement either, but thought it was interesting she would include it (the article was written by a student). some of the statements following that one were actually a little racist, too. i'm happy we at least discussed it, though.
