The movie: book(s) selected at last...?

Sep 01, 2008 08:29

Well... according to this article and another English article I happened upon, it seems that the books chosen for the first of the Tintin movie trilogy are the The Secret of the Unicorn/Red Rackham's Treasure duology. However, a couple French articles seem to be mentioning Crab With the Golden ClawsSo, once again, it's not confirmed as to exactly ( Read more... )

**nod nod**

True. But there's hope in the knowledge that Hergé himself considered Spielberg the best person for the task of making a Tintin movie. ^^

Here's hoping they'll be great! ^^

That sounds good. Those are two of my favourite Tintin books.

I really like them, too. ^^ My favorites, though, are Tibet and the Moon duology. But if Unicorn/Rackham is the first movie, there might be a slim chance that the other two could be the other two duologies, in which case, I might be able to look forward to a movie version of the Moon! X3 **This is purely speculation, of course...**

I would love to see Tibet on screen, though! **Yay, friendship cuteness! X3**

*Raises hand feebly* I liked the English voice actors. I adore the whole series. Anything Tintin, I like. And I think Colin O'Meara's voice was perfect for Tintin. His giggle is fecking adorable.

However, I hate the idea that comics from the 30's and 40's are going to be given the Beowulf/Speed Racer treatment. These movies were flops for a reason and God help Spielberg if he turns my fandom into three consecutive flops. I plan on attending San Diego Comic Con in Tintin's orange spacesuit (with Snowy!) with a sign that says "Didn't need computers then, don't need 'em now".

Ooh, but I adore the English VAs, too-- you're not alone! X3 As I mentioned in the other comment, the English Nelvana dub was my first introduction to Tintin. ^^ My favorite of the VAs has to be David Fox; he portrayed the Captain with just the right amount of sailor gruffness! I think he's the reason why I'm such a big Haddock fan. X3

**ponders** Well... I would've preferred an animated movie, too (probably because that's what I'm used to), but, who knows...?

Wow, did you make the spacesuit yourself?

I will, yes. The hardest part will be finding the giant fishbowl...

Oh god, I totally agree. I'm going to wish with all my might that these 3D Tintin movies will be amazing...but honestly, I am sick and tired of all animated movies being done on computers. That's why I'm so psyched about the new Disney movie because it's actually going to be *gasp* a cartoon instead of 3D.
