I'm like a drug.
I see it.

my things will be packed away. stored in a tiny unfamiliar room in Miami. my house will be rented out to who knows who. my room... my sanctuary... will be someone elses. my walls will be bare and repainted. my room. my small townhouse. my home of 10 years will not be mine for a very long time.

Moving is hard. I remember when I did it to come here... I was as excited as you are going to New York. I felt so happy and then I saw my new room and ever since then I can't really call any room mine. My sense of that is gone... I have a room with David, a room that I love and brings me security and stuff. But it doesn't feel *mine* you know? I don't think you ever do find a room or a home that feels like your own after you've moved away from the one home that's been yours for the better part of your life. Those teenage years... that's were your real room is.
I'm so sad you're leaving yours but you're going to bigger and better things =). And even though you maybe won't find a room that feels like it's entierly yours again you know you're following your dreams and that's the important bit.
I wish you the best Mel!
