First I had to sit there, in Ruby's borrowed blazer and black mary-janes, with my resume folder on my lap and watch the melbourne cup in the waiting room with a guy who must have hurt his bum or his back from the look on his face, and a blond couple with a squirming baby I thought was going to roll right
