One of the things that's always bothered me about Manila was the lack of things to do, besides the run-of-the-mill malling-coffeshop-bar routine.  For example, we don't have any watersports or nature parks within the metropolis (I have friends who dragonboat on Pasig, but that's not an activity for the faint-hearted).  The lack of diversity is one ( Read more... )

hey, this is exactly what bev and i keep whining about :o and most of the semi-interesting sports stuff like rock climbing and paintball have been taken over by the rich people. haha. this is why we always end up road tripping out of town to her farm or something when we have free days.

Yeah, I noticed this whenever I have foreign friends over and they ask "so what do you do in Manila?" You can only shop for pearls and DVDs in Greenhills so many times...we always end up going out of town.

I remembered tuloy AUDC and the Jap tourists who got fleeced by that massage-robbery syndicate, haha. We can't even do spa tourism well. XP

lol. you just replaced jologs with slums! :P

i know how you feel, a friend from australia who visited us here was asking us for things to do and all we could say was shopping or going to the bar. haha. fortunately, there was that eurostar rides thing in the fort.

i've been dying to go to the ccp area to co-carts and paintball thingie, just no one to come with me:(

Dammit, I was hoping you'd miss it. XP This is turning into our version of "Where's Waldo" haha.

Even Eurostar is only good for one night. I wish they'd finally get serious about cleaning up and restoring Intramuros, para there'd be some kind of tourist-y place in the city naman.

Go-karts! There's one in Fort Bonifacio, that might be more convenient than CCP for your friends.

I'd love to hear what your definition of 'um, watersports' is. Sounds mildly scandalous.

Certainly there were a lot of sextastic people in attendance, but not one smelled of Ax body spray, and it was a welcome surprise to emerge into the cold Vegas morning thinking "I also enjoyed talking with that woman.
