It's been a busy and long week... so long that I'm almost too exhausted to think about what I want to post. I've had six straight days of four or fewer hours of sleep - I'm looking forward to going to bed shortly and not getting up until noon or so ( Read more... )

Probably a good idea on the job. Good luck with it.

I've just been confirmed as performing at Polaris at a pirate-themed private party- a costumer's group, I believe. The hotel won't let us set my nipples on fire, but we'll have most of our other dangerous stuff there.

I figured you'd probably be involved somehow when Barb first approached the Board about it. :)

I was wondering about signing up as a panelist still, but when I heard the scheduling meeting was happening already I was wondering if I'd missed my chance. It's not usually til right around Anime North which is still weeks away.

I haven't registered yet either. I'll have to figure out how to do this as I'm not registering online but instead will be mailing in a money order or I'll check and see if I can register as a panelist and then pay the difference at the con as was done in the past. Not sure if that's possible still. Hmmmm, we'll see.

I saw your emails with travellingone - I'm glad you're going to be a panelist! Your point of view is always interesting.

We decided to hold the meeting slightly earlier than usual this year in the hopes of giving ourselves more time to deal with the Jenga issue. Then dx4 suggested telling potential panelists the schedule before they even register, and letting them figure out what panels they can sign up for based on what they want to see, instead of moving everything around every day for the last two months.

Also, we changed the process a couple of years ago (two years ago, I think? Maybe it was just last year) to require panelists to be pre-registered so that we could minimize the amount of money we have to collect at the door.

Edit: the pre-reg deadline is June 1, so you still have time. As soon as we get notification from the pre-reg department that they've processed your form, we'll get you into the system. (Just don't forget to check off the "I want to be a panelist" box, or we might not get notified.)

Hmmmm, what a good idea to have the schedule before the panelists pick their panels so that they can set their own schedule. Easier for you guys and the panelists can't complain that they're opposite something they want to do or on a day or time that does not work for them. Hmmmmmmm. Sounds vaguely familiar, but I'm not sure why. ;) LOL!

Oh and I also submitted two panel ideas in my email. Late, I know. But as I said in the email, one is only a result of something mentioned on TCON Connections and the other is based on what I had for lunch today! LOL. If they make it I'll do those, if not, there are many other fine panels that I would enjoy!
