They are quite, quite brilliantly superb. I have completely run out of superlatives for them, to be honest.
The full quote is: "There is a great deal to be said for a steady deck under a 'cello: a great deal to be said for a cheerful heart behind a fiddle" - both Stephen and Jack are reasonable musicians, as amateurs, cellist and violinist respectively, and indeed that's how they first meet, right at the beginning of the first book - they are attending a music recital. :D
