Yes, Miguel has been suffering from sleep apnea... I just thought he was a snotty kid till one night I looked in his mouth to discover his tonsils were so large they touched in the middle. When he would sleep they would fall back into his throat. He has also always had a hair trigger gag reflex to the point that currently he is just afraid to eat food as food touches his tonsils and makes him gag. So Monday he will have his tonsils and adenoids removed.
Good news, he is less scared about it all than I am. He knows what is going to happen and has been practicing wearing his gas mask. So just parental fear.
Poor Miguel, but as you said he's young, he'll have forgotten it in no time. Plus don't they say that little kids suffer a whole lot less than older kids with these surgeries? I wish I'd gotten my tonsils out as a kid as I'm always plagued with tonsilitis, but if I did it now, as an adult, I'd be in AGONY for weeks.

Good luck Miguel.
And try not to worry, mom and dad!
