you may have heard about the wrestler who killed his wife and son over the weekend before hanging himself with his weight machine. chris benoit was my favorite wrestler. he was a lot of people's. on monday, i actually teared up upon finding out about his death, prior to anyone but the police knowing the true, terrible details. this guy's ( Read more... )

from what i can gather, benoit was really skilled and had a lot of the best qualities of old-school wrestlers. it makes it all the more messed up that he lost it so completely.

good luck with the job stuff. sounds promising.

thanks for the support re: the job stuff. i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

you're right about benoit, he was old-school. but he was also pretty innovative, employing and popularizing a style in north america that was much more intense and hard hitting than anything anyone had ever seen. not sure if the story will remain mainstream, but if it does, what may get more coverage are the prevalence of concussions and possible brain injuries as well as the almost-required use of steroids, growth hormones and pain killers.
