Vegan Sushi

Apr 15, 2009 15:51

I was so busy with the holiday weekend and dog play, that I neglected to post about my sushi. Thanks to cranphin, I now have an awesome knife sharpener, and I get 8 pieces out of each roll, instead of just 7. I can razor off the ends (stubs), which was not possible before with the dull state of my chef's knife.

How do you cook the rice? What water/rice ratio?

I'd have loved to come to the BBQ, but I'm afraid I'm heading off to the US for a week on the 16 so I can't come. :(

aww, we'll miss you not being at the bbq. We'll be doing a mini-smoker out on the patio if the weather is nice that day (not wet or excessively windy ( ... )

Awesome. So your rice to water ratio is much lower than mine, I tend to go for 4/5 rice/water.

Hopefully I'll get to try your sushi another time. :)

his sauce might not taste very good, but damn if he's not sexy! Cute too :) And yes, I posed that bottle, when I was figuring out what I did or did not want to include in the countertop photo.

I can certainly ponder dropping by. But I have a few things to consider, such as my allergies and if I will still have a job (and the car that goes with it) by then.

So, we'll see!

Well, as with last time, most time can perhaps be spent out on the patio, in the fresh air away from the dane hair. Also, I will be giving Danger a calming medication, so he should be stashed upstairs, that means 2 dogs down, and Minnie is quite calm. We'd certainly love to have you by, and mass transit, while time consuming, is fairly close by.

awww, that is a bit far. Though, flights are still inexpensive in may! They don't go nuts until late july/august this year :) AMS Schiphol is only 35 miles from our house...
