Thursday I had a blast seeing Oi Va Voi again in the Effenaar. (The first time I saw them live was some three years ago in Tivoli, Utrecht when they had another singer and violin player)
My review will be online soon.
Here's some pictures (taken from the internet) of the 2 new girls Alice McLaughlin (vocals) and Anna Phoebe (violin)

Her Greek-Irish father (born and raised in England, just to confuse the issue) is my uncle - my mother's brother.
I have never met or even spoken to her - my parents emigrated before my siblings and I were born, so we have grown up on the other side of the world to most of our family.
I´ve spoken with a few of them (on both sides) and even met a couple but most of my family remain a mystery to me. I only know about Anna's exalted career because my mother told me. My older sister met pretty much the whole family when she went to the UK, though, I believe.
My uncle (whose professional name is Andi Sexgang) was big on the goth/punk scene in the 80s (and maybe 70s too, I forget). Also on my mother's side - it seems to run in the family!

Hey Pip!
This is soo fascinating!
The world is really a small place, to be found out every time again and again :D
So wow.. yeah Anna played wickedly wonderful on the violin, she is a true artist!
I talked to her for a while after the show ( if I had known this last thursday... wow I would have mentioned for sure :D )
And she was really friendly, I also got her autograph.
(will email you a picture of the scan of the setlist with all the band's autograph's!)
So why did your parents emigrate?
hugs Elwin
