Check into your company's 401k loan policy because the company I work for now has something where if you leave, they can just do automatic debits from your checking account until it's paid off rather than having a taxable event or having to pay it in full. Then again, asking your dad may not be such a bad idea (even though you'd have to hear his mouth) because you won't feel tied down to your job if you really want to leave AND asking him for that money will make him feel needed (and for a dad that means errthang).
I think the foundation is a wonderful idea! Let me know when it's up and I'll give a donation (you do take post-dated checks, right?)

I read that info that I mentioned on the website of the investment company that holds our money, but youre right --the website said policies may vary by individual company. (I generally try not to get my Finance People or TWNW all up in my business because as I stand there asking them about this, they will be checking my nose for cocaine rings, starting rumors about my expensive new drug habit. But I will go ask them.uggggggggggggggggggggh)
