The Jackson Square park was deserted and the iron gates locked for the night, but that didn’t stop Vampires who needed privacy. Jon and Hephaistion sat on a bench under the canopy of a huge tree. Neither talking. Neither needing to at that point.

( Andre had seen the furrows in Jon’s cheeks and had smelt his blood, so it was no large feat to follow the scent through the streets )

Jon wandered along the street; hands shoved deep in the pockets of his threadbare jeans avoiding the glances of passersby, but sensing their unfocused thoughts. Something niggled at the edge of his mind though and Jon realized it was another Vampire... one he knew.
