Aww. Sounds kind of sucky. As for oatmeal... I suggest you try using milk (1% works for me) instead of water, and doing it in the microwave. The directions are only a suggestion. Some people like it thicker or thinner. Serve with brown sugar broken up by hand (so there are little lumps of brown sugar throughout).
