Sorry Bradley I completely disagree. I cant explain my whole theory on love but i think that when you are in "love" one day you will completely understand. Also I believe my beliefs have a lot to do with my view of love. (not trying to force my views on you, just letting you know my point of view) "God is Love and Love is Real" -mewithoutyou
And I actually do believe in love, just not in the sense that most people do. I very much believe that God is love and God loves us all. I don't believe though that there is a single special person out there for all of us that is our one true love and who we will be in love with. Because in order for someone to be "in love", it can't be temporary and it can't be a choice. You can't choose who you want to be in love with. So that makes it predetermined in a sense. I guess I should rephrase everything though. I think that Love is real. I love everyone. God loves everyone. Just like a mother loves her children. But I don't think that being "in love" is probable. And I should probably let you know that I really love debating and discussing stuff, so I get really into it, but it's absolutely no negativity against you or anyone I talk with.
And we need to get together and do some acoustic stuff soon!
Bradley, consider yourself enlightened by knowing that love is not real. I thought it was for a short time, but I soon realized it IS just a fairy tale and exaggeration.
I agree on caring for people. I'd take a bullet for you as I'm sure you would for me (from reading your post).
Love is just a marketing idea. The only reason I even use the word "love" is I believe there has to be an opposite of "hate." But "in love" doesn't apply to that. "In love" is a lie. Love in the sense of religion is completely different "guitardork." Sure you can love an entity [misspelled, I know]. But that doesn't mean you want to bang Shiva, right?
Point is. Love is a lie. I agree with you, Bradley.
While banging Shiva isn't exactly what I had in mind, you hit the nail on the head in saying that "in love" is a lie and that I think of love as the opposite of hate.
I understand what you are saying about religion but as bradley said ""In Love" isn't even a tangible concept." He is completely true. I dont think you or him understand it. I dont understand it. I just think that when you (or i, or bradely) experience it, that you will know it. It will click. It will just be like "OHHH This is what love is."
I think people have an idea of what they want love to be, and when they get close to meeting those assumed prerequisites, they call it love. I don't think there is a such thing as being in love, just a childish/innocent desire to achieve something we've grown up thinking we've seen.
Sorry I come off as so negative, but "love" is just something I've never actually seen truly work out.

Well said on that point.

And the banging Shiva was just for humor. It sort of served a purpose, I guess.

If I was to say that being "in love" did exist, I'd think your explanation is the most probable.
