Is there a code repository available? Preferably like a gitweb, so we can see exactly what/how you mande changes?

Another fun issue: Since K9Sms and Messaging have the same namespace, you can't be sure of which one is actually open.

Known issue. Weird interactions with system app. Not worth fixing.

I'll put this up on github later.

I just installed this, since Messaging was getting way too slow. But: I can see a repo on github, but there's nothing in it! Is it coming? Or better yet, are you working on integrating your caching into Messaging, yet?

Yes, all the changes were merged into the official codebase and available via http://android.kernel.org/. Just wait for an OTA update, as I don't think the android.kernel.org code is stable at present from what I've heard.

E/dalvikvm( 2984): Could not find method android.provider.Telephony$Sms.getDisplayAddress, referenced from method com.danga.k9sms.util.ContactNameCache.getContactName

This binary doesn't run in Cupcake. It looks like you didn't build it against the SDK and are calling private methods from the 1.0/1.1 telephony module. The method in question doesn't exist in Cupcake, so kaboom.

On the other hand, Cupcake's SMS has all these improvements, and more, ....
