Damn expectations. What're the odds they'll even make it to New Hampshire?

"Tailing? No." Ever since Brad had decided to accept Kara's entirely ludicrous scenario and agreed to provide her with help, Alan had made a point of being aware of the other man's movements. It had been, for the most part, as boring as it sounded.

"I'm eyeing you warily, Brad. Granted, I wasn't present the last time your delusions of competence took hold, but am I right in assuming this determined clenching of the jaw is a reliable indicator?"

ooc: I'll leave you to wonder why I eliminated that other line.

"Since when do you take an interest in my actions?" Brad's finger poked Alan's left shoulder in emphasis to In. My. Actions. "You're more of Monday morning quarterback, if anything." The last time Brad had been an a parking garage with Alan, it had given him identity issues for a week. Then the light blub went on. "Oh, right. You gave away your Mercedes as a bribe. You're here looking for a ride. Clown boy."

[ooc: 'If only he'd thought to sabotage Brad's vehicle'; Either you realized British engineering is an oxymoron or you've seen Duel]

Alan does not appreciate the poking. It's an all too literal way of proving Ynez's assessment of their overwhelming animosity correct.

"This isn't interest in your actions," he replies, ignoring...the vast majority of what Brad's said. "My interest lies with the trouble you're inevitably going to muscle your way into."

ooc: I have no idea what Duel is. imdb keeps giving me stuff about Spielberg and tractors.

"Hey, Pot. Kettle called and said WTF." Brad generally couldn't pull off pop culture wit, but he was still grasping at deflection. "So is this your way of asking not to be left out of the chance to stir things up?"

[ooc: That's right, buddy. Spielberg's tale of defeating an incessant antagonist in the form of a benign object. Brad equates Alan to the semi truck. And, it is a road trip]
