Oh, *very nice*. I love how this vid really is a concise encapsulation of the season's narrative: just like the season, you start off with the very broad fellowship competition, then narrow the focus down to tell the Amber/Wilson/House story. Only, what seemed (to me, anyway) an almost scattershot progression in the show itself becomes a very tightly coherent narrative in the vid. Score one for having to tell a complete story (or two or three) in under three minutes! *g*
And, as usual, *great* music/visual matchups. I especially liked the impact of...well, the impact of the truck on Amber, and the pulling-apart of House and Amber's hands, and--of course--matching Amber's mouth to the lyrics on that last "What'cha want?" And the way you used Taub and his wife and the Jewish wedding ceremony to parallel Wilson and Amber is *excellent*. And and and...
just like the season, you start off with the very broad fellowship competition, then narrow the focus down to tell the Amber/Wilson/House story That was definitely the goal, so it's really reassuring that it came through so well. :) I've been trying to sort of get the pulse of the season and characters and flow of emotion with each of these House vids, and what you're describing here is exactly how the season felt to me. My influence as a vidder is just about trying to highlight (what I feel to be) the heart of the season's message/theme.
And the way you used Taub and his wife and the Jewish wedding ceremony to parallel Wilson and Amber is *excellent*. I'm so glad someone caught that! Feared it wouldn't be transparent enough.
I'm very happy that the you enjoyed the musicality! This was my firs time vidding rap and, wow... rap to a talky face drama? Maybe not the best decision I've ever made. But it was big with the challenging. So yeah, I really appreciate your comments on that front!
This is fantastic. I love the intro, and how everyone is reacting to the music and the stagger steps. The initial breadth of it is gorgeous, but it narrows down beautifully from the standard professional/medical stress to something so much more intimate, 13 as she starts to fall apart, things turning personal for everyone. I love how at the half-way mark, all these diffuse seasonal storyline narrow down into sharp relief in relation to the stories of the characters and fellows -- the rock climber falling as Amber falls away,
I think my favourite part is at 1:30, as Amber sits down on the bus and the lock on the car door slams locked, because they're all locked in. It's illustrated beautifully in the "Think I'm losing my mind this time" segment that comes after. This time, House is losing something, destroying something, momentous.
I love the musicality of all of it, of course, but my favourite bits are the Amber/truck impact at 1:52 and the repeated hands pulling apart.
It really means a lot to me that you enjoyed this so much, Cherry. Thank you, seriously.
13 as she starts to fall apart, things turning personal for everyone Whee! It worked! :)

You're all insightful and stuff. I was trying to get across a feeling of picking up emotional momentum during the Amber/Wilson/House part and sort of tailspinning toward the crash, and it certainly sounds like it came across that way. House is always so eager to try to analyze everyone around him... not so much himself
( ... )
I do not watch House, but I do love me some Anne Dudek and, therefore, have enjoyed the crop of S4 vids. THIS...I've been literally watching it over and over for about a half hour now. It's amazing. Like really incredible EVERYTHING about it. Wow.
I have to admit I've never seen Anne Dudek in anything else, but she was awesome in this season. I love House, obviously, but that aside it's more than worth watching season 4 alone if you love Anne Dudek. She kind of owns it... and it was the writer's strike season, so it's only like 14 eps.
Also I'm kind of FREAKING OUT that you liked the vid so much. :) Especially since you don't know the show.
Anne Dudek has done bit parts on Big Love and Mad Men, she was in this crazy pants British show when she first started acting, but she's generally just kinda awesome. I'm very curious about some of these eps because they look really hardcore.
Anyway I saved the vid due to the awesome and it will make it to my iPhone for future watchings. Did I mention it kicks all sorts of ass? ;P
I have to say, I melted a little when I saw your replies this morning *and* the rec. Holy wow. It's a bit overwhelming. I hope you enjoyed the vids half as much as I've enjoyed your reaction to them.
