Chemicals are good...

I didn’t sleep well last night. We have spiders. Whereas I am not afraid of them, I don’t like them crawling on my person. That stuff creeps me out. CREEPS ME OUT! One of the little boogers decided that my hand was necessary to skate across. The little booger was fast. It woke me up. I’m pretty sure his little body went flying across the room.

I am finding a newfound respect for spiders. With all the news of bed bug infestations on the rise, they are the best defense against these nasty things. Thought that does mean making peace with them.

As long as they aren't the poison variety, I'm gonna begin welcoming our 8 legged friends to kill what ever creepy crawly blood sucking thing thinks it wants to enter my home.

I do not like spiders (or snakes, for that matter), but I will tolerate them as long as they are not Black Widows or Brown Recluse. I do not see the former very often like I did back east, and so far have not seen the latter at all let I scream like a school kid. The unfortunately have a function in our world and I try to let them do what they do as long as we don't cross paths. Shudder.

It's bad luck to kill spiders.

In many European traditions, spiders are believed to be the source of creation and the bringer of wealth. From childhood, I I was taught that it was good luck to have spiders in the house since they controlled pest insects like mosquitos.

As a general rule, I leave them alone. I do disturb the cobwebs (when I get tired of seeing them, that is) but generally spiders don't bother me. I know their purpose in the grand design.

Thanks for the information. You're very handy! I still want to touch your beard. *giggles*

You won't want to hear this but a statistic I read a few years back says the average person eats 10 spiders in their lifetime...mostly when they're sleeping.
