Man, didn't I tell you your room would be vastly improved with a more natural-looking light source like two years ago?

Peace yo.

Like what? Full spectrum whatever? Any suggestions?

I bought some shitty lamp from Big Lots. Need to return it. It's some crazy six bulb monster that doesn't want me to use bulbs over 40 watts, and ends up being equivalent to a gigantic dim flashlight. Got some of those "Reveal - Clear , Beautiful Light" bulb that cost twice as much as a regular one.

Had something like that in college and remember liking it, but I guess the wattage was higher. Although I think it was more like the lamp in the living room that's almost impossible to turn on though - more like three bulbs.

See, the fluorescent used to not put me to sleep cause I was all about caffeine. Now, I wake up with TMJ disorder-related pain the morning after I drink it. Fucking Haymarket is a two day headache sentence. Their decaf tastes like coffee that has been run through a machine that eliminates everything appealing about it.

Doing nanowrimo?

Personally, I favor the 'Reveal - whatever' bulbs, yeah, that just look like normal bulbs but cost more. But I feel they're so worth it. Didn't you have an SAD lamp back in the day? If it's rated to be on for more than an hour or so at a time (you should check this because a lot of them aren't) you can just turn it to the wall and make it an indirect light source. Basically, just think full spectrum and indirect (this is why your florescent light sucks, is failing on both these counts).

Almost tempted to do nanowrimo this year but I'm looking forward to having no time for the next three weeks, as one of the other teachers here goes to the UK and I teach a bonus 9 hours/week to cover. I asked her to try to reduce this, since I got more extra work than any of the other teachers, but we'll see. Mostly I'm just going to try to wrap up a story I'm working on now and figure out if it should be part of anything else etc. That's my humble writing goal this month.

I have a light box. Don't know if it's called a SAD lamp. But I can't use it as a light source. It's just too goddamm bright and unpleasant. I suffer through it for a half an hour each day when I'm going through seasonal depression. I guess I could always try to turn it against the wall, but I don't think that would light up the whole room. Plus the light that it gives off is pretty artificial looking - makes me think of the words ultraviolet and purple ( ... )
