Up until now, I've refrained from ever actually using this thing mainly because I didn't think there was much particularly interesting about my life right now.  Granted, I'm in China teaching English for a year, but after you've been here for a while (I've been here since August), you get settled in and the newness wears off ( Read more... )

I know we really haven't talked or anything, but I am so incredibly jealous. That looks like an awesome trip!! I don't know if I should mention that I'd like to visit Tapei and KL myself... simply because I'm a skyscraper dork. Aaaaanywho... enjoy your trip!!

Yeah...the Petronas Towers are pretty much *the* reason for my stop in KL. Sadly, you can only go to the 43 story Skybridge and not to the actual top. They are based on Islamic symbols and stuff, so I think it should be neat. I'll take lots of pictures! Tickets are free, but you have to go early to get one for the day. The towers are officially worth me not being lazy and actually getting up one morning ( ... )

LOL. For a while I knew the top 20 towers in the world... now I just know that the former NationsBank building is the tallest skyscraper in the country outside of New York or Chicago... I think it's #7 in the US. As for the world, it WAS #17 or something, but that was before this latest building binge.

Are you aware that the skyscraper off right by Perimeter Mall and 285 was the tallest suburban skyscraper for a while? Or that the Peachtree Plaza was the tallest hotel in the Northern Hemisphere for a while?

Um. I mean... I don't know any of this. I'm not a geek. Skyscraper OR Geography. :-)

I'm impressed. Totally in a good way. I bow down before your superior knowledge of man's ability to reach towards the heavens!

And on geography...I bet you had no idea you were talking to the five time defending elementary and middle school geography bee champion. I was never beaten in a school level bee and went on to the state geography bee in 6th-8th grade. But the state bee...didn't do too well there. Besides, that one's just for nerds. Not cool kids like myself. ;o)

Is it sad that I would still be proud of that fact? Maybe...and I'm ok with that.
