=\ I'm sorry about the cal grant thing brad. hopefully everything will work out okay and chico will send you a good financial package. you should sign up for some scholarships... look for them on the internet.

loans, dude. i know it sucks to think of entering the world in debt, but bones malone (production sound engineer for the new broadway hit spamalot and my good friend) told me that if you're good at sound you will never be out of work. he said he'd love to talk to you about it sometime, but he's in new york for the next couple of months. anyway, it could be a good contact.

it'll work out, i'm sure. let me know if you need any help.

sorry i missed your trip down here, i'd love to hear the cd.

give me a call sometime and i can tell you some more of the stuff bones said/about new york.

what flavor hooka did you smoke?

mango...which was nasty. and also strawberry vanilla which was good.

Yea next week is my spring break and i got like 7 scholarship forms today at school that i need to fill out and write essays for. I also plan to contact the jazz director, music director, and heads of the sound department at chico and ask them for scholarships. i'm also going to send them a demo CD of the jazz band and wind ensemble and give a reference of chris cortez, so hopefully i can squeeze some money out of them.

As to loans, dad is not to hot on the idea of me taking loans from the start, because of the situation you are in with not perfectly steady work and an apartment to pay for. so if u can help me talk him into it, i think chico is only like 10-12K a year depending on what kind of scholarships i can get.

sounds like you're doing the right stuff.

i'll talk to dad about loans next time i talk to him. i mean, in a way, he's right, because entering the job pool out of college sucks and you'll be in the same boat as i without steady work and rent to pay (but it's not like i've had to ask mom and dad for money yet, i'm getting by). the minimum payment on loans is so low that it is doable.

plus even if you get scholarships, some of those might only cover the first year and you'll end up taking out loans for the three years to follow. but apply for as many as you can.

good luck! ttyl.
