Admitted students - Average ASU/transfer GPA: 3.44
Denied students - Average ASU/transfer GPA: 2.92Seeing as how my GPA was barely above that of the students denied to the Business school's Professional Program, some statistics made me think I had a slim shot at being admitted. I heard Ultraviolet sucked... two friends walked out of it. =( Your thoughts?

It was a no-brainer action and special effects bonanza. The beginning bordered on being a long music video like "Charlie's Angels 2", which I thought was a poorly done sequel. I went into Ultraviolet expecting something like The Island, which I thought was decent, but there was less to the story and the insanity/improbability of things that were happening was taken to another level. However, I was entertained enough not to hate Ultraviolet, which was just about worth matinee price, and it wouldn't make for a bad mindless DVD rental. I didn't even think of walking out on it, but for me, very few movies trigger that thought.

I think I would have enjoyed Dave Chappelle's Block Party more. Also, if I had known that Bruce Willis' 16 Blocks was out, I probably would have seen that instead.

Thank you :)

I have a 3.00 ASU GPA and my skill GPA was less than a tenth of a point higher. I was told by an advisor to do the best you possibly can on the essay portion, and then a student who applied said that those are given a considerable amount of weight in the acceptance process.

My advice for the essays is to emphasize your strengths & how they can be applied to the program, touching on what you've been or are currently doing related to the program (which in my case could mostly be explained in my job/club experience section), and explaining your academic weaknesses & what you have done or will do about them.

Yea Brady! I'm trying to think of a situation where big envelope=bad and small envelope=good. Haven't come up with one yet.

Thanks!

As for not mentioning it, I guess there was a lot of other stuff going on that night, so it just didn't come up in conversation. Sure, I'd be able to help you out with the essays.
