Title: Crystal Rain Book I: Whatever Happened To Melvin Purvis? (18/19)
Author: BradyGirl_12
Pairings/Characters (this chapter): Teddy/Chuck
Series Notes: My notes grew too voluminous for the header, so you can find them in a separate entry here.
Fandoms: Public Enemies/Shutter Island
Genres: Angst, AU, Drama, Hurt/Comfort, Mystery
Rating (this chapter): NC-17
Warnings (this chapter): None
Spoilers: For Shutter Island, some scenes were tailored by me to fit this story. Nothing in this story references the major plot twist of the book or movie. I used the same settings and characters, but in a very AU way. For Public Enemies, nothing except for the ultimate fate of John Dillinger, and that’s historical fact, anyway.
General Summary: U.S. Marshals Teddy Daniels and Chuck Aule are sent to Shutter Island on a unique assignment, and while there, discover shocking answers to a decades-old mystery.
Chapter Summary: Teddy and Chuck figure out a way to keep each other warm when there’s no heat in their room. ;)
Date Of Completion: April 20, 2010
Date Of Posting: August 24, 2010
Disclaimer: I don’t own ‘em, Dennis Lehane, Paramount and Universal do, more’s the pity.
Word Count: 851
Feedback welcome and appreciated.
Author’s Notes: This is a story that started running through my head as soon as I left the theater after my first viewing. Like the patients on Shutter Island, I can’t escape! ;)
The entire series can be found here.

ME AND THEE

Me and thee...
It’s all we’ve got.

It was cold, the heat still a tricky thing in the communal bathroom. Teddy quickly showered and hurried back to the room. “We have heat off-and-on in the bathroom, and no heat here!” he complained.

“Sadly, you speak the truth.” Chuck was in flannel pajamas tonight instead of shorts and undershirt. He was huddled under the blankets.

Teddy was also dressed in pajamas. It was way too cold for anything less. He gratefully got in under the blankets after shutting off the light.

“Dr. Cawley said the maintenance guy will be able to work on it tomorrow. In the meantime, I think we should share…body heat.” Chuck smiled.

They inched closer, Teddy slipping his arms around Chuck, who returned the favor.

“Looks like we’ve got a situation here.” Teddy smiled a little self-consciously.

Chuck laughed. “Let’s take this slow. We’ll know what to do when the time’s right.”

Teddy couldn’t argue with that. He sighed softly, starting to feel relaxed. He didn’t want his partner to think all he wanted was a quick fuck. Sure, the sex would be great, but if he was going to play for the other team, he was going to go all the way to the end zone. He wanted this to be special. Chuck meant a lot to him, and he didn’t want to mess this up.

Chuck smelled of soap and shampoo and he was toasty warm, which considering the iciness of the room was a good thing.

“Comfortable?”

“Very much.” Chuck’s eyes were shining, an affectionate smile curving his lips. The full moon gave them enough light to see each other.

“This place…it can spook a guy.”

“Yeah.” Chuck pulled the covers up higher. “I can’t imagine what it must be like, alone and stuck in one of those rooms on the wards, especially the old fort.”

Teddy shivered. “Neither can I.” He thought of the star-crossed lovers they’d met and wondered how they hadn’t gone crazy after all these years. He didn’t want to waste time after seeing how precarious life could be “They’ve survived, though.”

“They’re like newlyweds, all starry-eyed.” Chuck laughed. “Can you imagine tough guy John Dillinger all mushy?”

“Mel seems to have brought out his tender side.”

“Funny how the No. 1 cop fell for the No. 1 gangster.”

“Life is funny.”

Chuck reached out and brushed away a lock of blond hair from Teddy’s eyes. “Life should be funny some of the time. We’ve seen the not-so-funny too many times.”

Teddy took Chuck’s hand. “We’ve all we got in this crazy world.”

“Our problems don’t amount to a hill of beans?”

Teddy chuckled. “I’d say this is the start of a beautiful friendship, but we already have one.”

“It’s always best to start out as friends.”

Chuck’s hand caressed Teddy’s cheek, and he leaned forward, gently kissing him.

Teddy pulled Chuck closer, savoring the taste of warm lips, his heart racing as he teased his partner’s mouth open, slipping his tongue inside.

Chuck moaned softly, his fingers gripping his partner’s arms. Teddy kissed his lover’s jaw, throat and shoulders, Chuck caressing his back, fingers sliding up under the pajama top.

Their bodies came together, and erections rubbed against fabric, the friction unbearably wonderful. Chuck’s hand slipped down Teddy’s pants, the older man moaning as warm fingers stroked his flesh.

“Ooh.” Teddy pushed his hips forward. “Yes, right there!”

Chuck grinned, pressing his hand tighter against Teddy’s cock. Teddy moaned. This felt so right.

Chuck nibbled his ear as Teddy shuddered, gasping as Chuck began to stroke and knead. “You’re safe with me, Teddy,” Chuck crooned. “Just let yourself go.”

“Mmm…” Waves of pleasure washed over Teddy, his head tilting back as he breathed, “Chuck!” The pleasure pinwheeled in front of his eyes as he came all over his lover’s hand.

“Ooh, sorry…”

“’S’okay.” Chuck gently caressed Teddy’s thigh with his clean hand.

“That was…amazing.”

Chuck grinned. “I certainly hope so.” He kissed his partner.

Teddy laughed. “Hey, my turn.” He pushed down Chuck’s pajama bottoms and underwear, carefully grasping his lover’s cock, his thumb rubbing over hard flesh, Chuck drawing in his breath. Teddy’s caresses were firm but gentle, sending shivers of delight through Chuck.

Teddy unbuttoned Chuck’s pajama top, kissing bare skin just above his undershirt. He moved up to the smooth neck, suckling gently as he stroked faster. Chuck’s hips moved as he moaned.

“You taste good,” Teddy whispered.

Chuck moaned again, gasping as he came. Teddy kissed him gently. “Guess that was all right?”

Chuck laughed. “You sure got a sense of humor, Partner.” His smile was sparkling. “Ooh, what a mess.”

“Don’t worry, you’re not the only Boy Scout around here. I came prepared.” Teddy leaned back and plucked a washcloth from the nightstand, cleaning them up.

“I’m impressed.”

Teddy smirked and put the washcloth back, snuggling under the covers with his new lover.

New lover. I like the sound of that.

Teddy fell asleep, feeling at peace for the first time in years.
