I honestly have no words for how amazing this is. I didn't like The New Frontier (the movie anyways), but I read this anyways because I enjoy your writing. [And I have this odd compulsion to be super surprised when you write something NC-17 rated and to read it immediately.]

Anyways, you have, in this, captured a feeling I have longed to and failed many, many times over the course of the years. So this is me bowing to your superior writing ability, tooting your horn, kissing your ring- however you'd like to phrase this.

I am blown away by how poignant this is. From Dinah and Selina's relationship, to the blackmail, to everything. Anyways, next time my friend suggests a HUAC-era story, I'm going to direct her to this. In fact, I think I will direct her anyways.

I loved Faraday in this, for some odd, strange reason. I always love him, he's such a slimy bastard, but you got him down pat here.

And also,

“Capital idea, Pretty Bird. Paradise is a place where women love women and no one will hate us for it ( ... )

*waves hand airily*

All will do. ;)

Thank you! I love to write historical stories, and this prompt was perfect. :)

This is wonderful, Brady! You captured the time, the people, everything about The New Frontier so beautifully! And you give us a rich back story to what we didn't get to see in either the book or the movie. Very nicely done! =D

Thanks, luv! :)

I enjoy writing fics set in the past, getting the details right. I knew that HUAC not only hunted down alleged Communists, but went after people they suspected of being gay. While Dinah and Selina appeared in public with Ted and Bruce and other men, they had their thing going, and it just added to Dinah's vulnerability.

I'm glad you enjoyed the story! :)
