There has been quite a lapse since my last update, lots of stuff taking up my time and not a lot of contact with the internet. Skipped class yesterday. I hadn't done that in a while. I felt worthless. Even though it would have been a total waste of time and I got to sleep in. In years past it wouldn't have bothered me to watch 6 uninteruppted hours of T.V. but yesterday I felt stupid just sitting there. Yesterday I found out that the guy that I've been working with who is two years younger than me, doesn't have a college degree, and dropped out of culinary school is now my boss (Sous Chef). In addition, the guy that left work to go on his externship will be returning Nov 1st as the kitchen manager, also has no degree. That makes me the lowlyest ( Read more... )

I'm taking a break from class right now, actually, it's 9:15 and I've finished all my production assingments for the day. That means that I have to waste 2.5 more hours here doing nothing. Last night I volunteered as a cook for a charity dinner to raise money for Cistic Fibrosis reseach. It was a 7 course wild game dinner which I thought was cool, but the stuff was pretty highly processed and dressed-up in order to make it appealing to the general public.
