recycling

The city is working on a zero-waste plan for Austin, and they're piloting single-stream recycle containers.

Also, I noticed during my last trip there that Ecology Action now takes plastic bags. That's cool, since I never remember to take plastic bags with me to HEB, which is the only other place I know of that takes them.

I always forget to take the bags back, too. Just don't ever open the under-sink cabinet in the kitchen...I can't be held responsible for what might happen ;)

I got cloth bags to help with this (when I remember them).

We have been recycling as much as we can and are looking forward to when they start taking the other 5 types of plastics and 3 types of glass. We also started composting. These two things together have greatly cut down on the amount in our trash can. It used to almost always be overfull - now it is usually around 1/2 full (or is that 1/2 empty?!)
