Foreign names

Does anyone have any resources for transcribing foreign names? If the pronounciation differs from English we're not supposed to use contractions. But if I don't know how some of these names are pronounced, how do I know whether to contract them or not, as names aren't in the dictionary.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,

You transcribe them into grade one but you can use the foreign language code for the accents. If you need any of the signs for French, German or Spanish, let me know and I'll send you a list. :D

Use only the dot 4 as an accent mark in foreign language words and names in an English language book. If the whole text of the book is in a foreign language, you'd use all uncontracted braille with foreign language letters.
