i really really want a dog but i am scared that i wont be able to handle it. Truth is, i work a pretty demanding job from 9-5 and i NEED to have a dog that is cool with being alone in my house for 4 hours at a time before i come home for lunch and take him/her out. You should totally get a dog.

Just do your research- breed research because you need a very social dog who is also not highly active. be realistic- don't underestimate the amount of time you won't be home with him/her

remember that a dog effects your sleep, budget, travel plans, and everyday schedule.

all bs aside, get a dog,they are incredibly rewarding pets, just be prepared and patient and open to craziness

if you go to the shelter and tell them that they'll probably have a good dog in mind to place you with. that, or they'll keep your name on and when they get a good dog they'll let you know. always try as many shelters as you can before going to a breeder. the truth is, if you want one and you are ready for the demand, then do it! i think an older (~4) bigger dog could handle the waiting in the apartment thing pretty easy

You could get a bunny. My guy is just as cool as any dog.
