Weee! So I got out of the hospital a few days ago (Yay!) And took off my bandages yesterday to find 2 ginormous stitches I didn't even know I had. Weirdness.

So I got back to work on Monday to find FSU's old Shake license expired and the tech dude hadn't had a chance to update the new license info. >_< So after missing a week of work I can't ( Read more... )

I have had that happen to me. Someone was lying in bed with me when my lung started to deflate. They asked me if I had farted, and I said "nope, just my lung poping". It kinda sounds like a big juicy fart, but in the middle of the chest. Needless to say, they were a little wierded out. At least I did not need to go back to the hospital that time.

So did you get the full on surgery that basically pastes your lung to the inside of you chest cavity?

Remember, do your lung exercises!! They really do help a good bit.

Good god no! The respiratory doc proposed this saying, "It will definitely fix your problem... Though if you ever need a lung transplant it will cause problems," with a weird look of hunger on his face. Two of the cardio dudes (that seem to have their shit a little more together) wanted to do an orthoscoping hunt for a weak spot and staple that part shut, but the most senior doc recomended trying the chest tube one last time before doing that. If it deflates again they're going to try that. I really don't want to attach my lung to my rib cage... they irritate your lung and your rib cage then they scar together... forever... sounds like it'd be fucking hellish healing after that kind of surgery. Plus if I'm ever shot in the lung or something I'll be screwed. I also imagine it could complicate heart surgeries and stuff if I ever need those.

That is what I had. They also did the hunt down the weak spot thing, but they did that first. My lung never did heal right, and I still get problems with it wanting to implode, but the surgery keeps it up. I have read a number of things that are for or against it. The lung looks hellish on an exray, and I love the look of the docs faces when they see it. Whole thing coated in scar tissue.
