Trying to figure out Snape's chart

Nov 01, 2007 22:59

I am having a horrible time trying to rectify Snape's birth chart.  I am going with the birth date 1/9/60, location England (!).  I want to figure out what his rising sign is so that I know what houses his planets fall in.  All right, so Scorpio seems to be a good rising sign for him - he doesn't have any planets in Scorpio (except Neptune but that ( Read more... )

This is interesting - wish I could help but my knowledge my astrology is pretty limited. Let us know when you resolve it.

I also posted this a while ago which you might find amusing.

I don't think JKR is ever going to favour us with disclosing his exact time of birth. ;)

Are you just rotating the rising sign through the chart and seeing how the other planets fall in the houses, trying to find one that fits?

I could almost see an Aquarius rising... he's got a streak of idealism. Usually I think of rising sign as "personal presentation" and he doesn't really act like an Aquarius, but there could be other things in the chart damping it down. My own rising sign is Aq and I would say I'm far more expressive of my Virgo Sun and Taurus Moon. Or how about Virgo rising?

This puts Venus in his first house which really seems out of character for him - he's not a warm and cuddly or attractive person which Venus in the first house would seem to indicate. He isn't, but that's Venus *in Scorpio* in the first house, which would change it some, I would think (vs. say, Venus in Cancer in the first house ( ... )

Hey! How did you find this? I thought it would be buried forever in the massive intricacies of Livejournal, and hardly anyone knows of my existence to go looking for it!

I made a reply to your comments except I didn't put it under your reply, just under the post itself, if that makes sense.

Probably some comment in snapedom, and I decided to look at your journal, which only has two posts visible to me.

(I had a friend with Aquarius rising, and she always wore black...but I hate her now)

*looks at her almost all-black wardrobe*

That has to do with Aquarius rising?

Well, just because the rising sign has to do with how you look, and wearing all black all the time is kind of odd I think, like Aquarius is. What' is your rising sign?

I looked at his chart with Virgo rising, and 4 planets end up in the 4th house, including Mars and Venus, so I think Mars could be an indicator of the strife in his childhood home life, and Venus could be about Lily.

Aquarius! That's why I mentioned my fashion choices. So I'm "kind of odd", eh? ;)

(I don't actually wear *all* black *all* the time, just mostly. Why, today I happen to be wearing a dark grey turtleneck.)
