Dear little ducklings! What a brilliant image!

I love the way you've incorporated the part of human!House that requires him to make decisions where there are no maps or guides to help him - deep space is a good analogy for that kind of professional isolation. It's a good AU when it makes one think hard about the characters in their canon setting.

Cuddy was awesome sexy in her long brown coat (brown coat!) and her fast-moving stride, Wilson was (as he should be) House's humanity and conscience, and the ducklings were a stroke of brilliance - wonderful.

I don't know who or what Ship!House was before he got shoved into that jar, but I figure that being "the best there is at what he does" (to paraphrase Wolverine) is an intrinsic part of House's personality.

The isolation parallel--it's something like: take the formula for episodes and keep pulling back until it could apply to anything. It's nice to know I managed it, so thank you. I'm something of an AU-junkie, so I appreciate the AU-canon connection you saw.

The ducklings wouldn't shut up till I put them in the story, and Cuddy--can't you just see her running a huge company, with all her employees (except for House) in mad fear of her?

Moments at which I shrieked "Yay!" and startled the other people in the lab:

Second Lieutenant Wilson
OH IT'S HOUSE/WILSON HUZZAH!

"I love my job!"
"I didn’t say you didn’t, I said you were hiding in it. And running away."
This got a shriek because it's SO THEM. Oh my god, that is THEIR VOICES right there!

...Did you kidnap Hugh and Bobby and hide them in your closet?

Watson.
... *dies* *loves on you*

There were more wonderful things in here, but those stood out with the shrieking.

This made me happy in so many ways. Thank you so much!

Yes, well, House/anyone else seemed wrong somehow. Not to mention Wilson is the only one who could put up with House for that long.

This got a shriek because it's SO THEM. Oh my god, that is THEIR VOICES right there!
Thanks! I watched WAY too many episodes trying to get their banter right.

. . . If I had Hugh and Bobby in my closet I would not be wasting my time writing fanfic! *wink*

Wilson is Watson! House is Holmes! It's all right there! I couldn't resist, especially since it gave House the opportunity to mock Wilson.

Thanks, shrieking is always appreciated!

Heeeeee! Man, this is genius, sheer genius. House is so Housey, even when he's a Ship! "Were you not listening when I said "buxom blond"? Or should I pixel together a picture? I warn you, it may be explicit."

Heee! And the banter!

I'm afraid I cannot be more coherent through the giggles.

...the fact that you decided to call this piece 'genius' may never stop amusing me and being frighteningly appropriate, considering the title and the various implications thereof.

House could never not be House, and House/Wilson banter is one of those things that I worked really hard to get right, so thanks for the compliment.

Giggling in lieu of coherence is a fine response!

Er...I am getting over a cold and am groggy? But I say things like that obliviously normally.

You did an excellent job with the banter, and I loved the part with House dropping in and out of FTL 15 times and freaking Cuddy out. The medical zaniness carries over well.

I really liked this. It's the show *exactly*, only with added Space!

Thanks. Space makes everything better! Or at least, gives House different things to bitch about.

Your icon is morbidly pretty and makes the astronomy geek in me grin.
