It's amazing, and kind of scary, how sharply your level of give-a-shit-osity towards your own birthday diminishes as you age past like... 21. Despite being reminded numerous times by my parents, I had managed to completely forget about my impending birthday until reminded again the preceding morning. Crazy stuff

Yeah, it's definitely emotionally affecting. It's sobering how easy it is to believe the terrible things people do in this movie.
