Right now I'm sitting at my weekly RP gaming session, and I'm bored.  It's been this way for a while, and I've been trying to find a way to politely get out of this group. This is why I stopped role-playing in general. All of the groups I was playing in were like this, either character development was sketchy at best, or your actions didn't matter, or blah blah blah. So I just started playing only strategy games.

That sucks. There is almost nothing worse than a boring RP session. I mean given the amount of work that goes into creating a character and the amount of time that goes into playing the game it's horrible when it's a boring waste of time.

I have to admit that lately I've been thinking it would be fun to RP again but I'd only want to do it with other people I was friends with. That way at least it would double as a social get together and a source of laughs.

Say you are quitting because of the distance and the wife would like you to be closer around the before and after time of Bacon Bit. That way you are free to try and find a game on the East side.

i agree with pretty much everything everyone's said: playing with friends makes it more social and there's less of all the downside shit. plus, i remember cyberpunk being awesome. and, yeah, your wife's idea about using distance as an excuse is a great one, as long as you can find a game on the east side.

have you tried talking to john schleis or any of those guys? might be worth a shot.
