I fail to see how it's any different from the state quarters (and their analog the province quarters), advertising their state and thusly being tourism ads.

Franklin Mint is not the United States Treasury...they make dolls and other tchotchkes as well. I assume the treasury just said "Fine, they're legal" so stores and places wouldn't be indundated with stupid Americans trying to pass off comic money as real. *shrug* I would wager it has nothing to do with the value of the American dollar, which I find to be a cheap shot that is unworthy of you.

Oh I know it really has nothing to do with the value of the American dollar. I do, however, find it funny that this is the same week that the Canadian dollar reached its all time high.

I was also just going for the a good headline.

As for "I fail to see how it's any different from the state quarters (and their analog the province quarters), advertising their state and thusly being tourism ads." Provinces or states are not products like this movie. Just imagine Mister Clean on a quarter. I still can't see this as anything but a cheap shot at your dollar.

Just another place that advertising should not be. I dunno perhapos rosebud on the back of a quarter might have been better. at least Citizen Kane is a classic whereas Fantastic Four 2 will be just as much of a crapfest as fantastic four 1.

boo,

The power of money lies in its acceptance. If you don't feel this is an acceptable unit of coinage, do not accept it from someone as payment. "That's ridiculous. That's not a real quarter.".

They can either give you a real quarter or not make the transaction in the first place.

PS: CANADA YAAAAY!
