my philosophy lecturer asked today, "what if you swapped souls, but not consciousness, everytime you touched someone? maybe when we're feeling down it's just because of the soul that is within us at that moment."
That makes perfect sense. I always believe you shouldn't identify yourself by how you feel in one given moment. We are too fluid and unpredictable a species.
good lord i know exactly what you mean, right down to jumping on a plane to somewhere far, far away, but i've never heard it described so perfectly.
coincidentally, i'm a snake, too, and in terms of your metaphor, today is the day of the year that I celebrate still being alive, still having new skin.
Its like a brief hybernation where one must turn inwards for a while. At the end of the day we only have ourselves and sometimes as much as we love other peoples company we just need to sit about and wallow that little bit. I think its what makes us human. The best part is you're able to look back, relfect and smile and then take a step forward instead of getting too comofortable in the foggy headspace. Thats a really good thing.
I will need to remember your snake metaphor, its a valuable lesson. Simple and yet profound.
