That's what I was thinking. People are getting to be such pussies. I mean really, if you see someone getting attacked how can you just stand there?! I don't get it.
Also very disturbing considering I can look out my window and see the Timberline. And walk by it nearly every day coming home from work.
absolutely amazing that people would just sit there gawking at something like that. why the fuck somebody didnt run the fuckers over with their cars if they were scared to use their fists is beyond me too. Hopefully this is just the media not portraying that someone came to this guy's rescue. This did happen on Pride weekend - what timing. There are also articles on king5.com and other news outlets. .. just do a search on 'gay' and you will find it. Perhaps more pieces would be put together this way. I cant believe i didnt hear about this - i found out today on the GLBT distribution list at work..
My friend just got back from Seattle- and she was saying how gay friendly it is and stuff. It's a shame crap like this still happens. At least he is OK.
Hate Crime ClassificationdougellJuly 10 2004, 21:33:16 UTC
The report that I read said that the Seattle police DID NOT classify this as a hate crime. Does anyone know if this is true? No wonder why people think that Seattle is a friendlier place than it really is, if the police refuse to classify hate crimes as hate crimes just to make our city's stats look better.
