The crazy lady across from us allowed her domestic dispute with (i think) her son to spill out into the street, and naturally the police showed up, as they always do. Realizing that the Seattle Police Dept has a horrible reputation in the black community, the four white officers (three male and one female) stood around and kinda surrounded this ( Read more... )

EVEN if an officer of color shows up the woman (who just so happens to be african american) VERY OFTEN the offender (who was loud and boistress towards the 'cracker officers' the black officer is usually also given a brunt of insults including being a trader to his race, or a slave 'to the white man' or many other names...

People that use race as a trump card only tend to totally turn off any sympathy that officers attempt to have. (from my experiences)

PERSONALLY: it torques me off when somebody attempts to use race in an attempt to get out of something they are unlawfully doing... in a feeble attempt to intimidate officers into going easy on them or scaring them off because of the threats of NAACP action or other such things.

yeah, i agree, but it is only a PR nightmare when it becomes a race issue. nobody really pays attention until its a black person accusing a white officer of being a racist.

Yep you kinda got it...

There are ALOT more police involved shootings out there... They arent national news, or in the front page of the news paper... (the PI did a story about this) that with in a week SPD was forced to shoot 3 people, only ONE was front page news and that man was black, one was white, and the other hispanic... Yet who made front page news?
