My recollection was that the spacers and first crank were the worst. THE WORST. After that it was easy peasy.

yeah, ive heard your first hit of crank can be pretty bad.

things may have changed since when I had braces... spacers were bad, but the first 2-3 days of braces are the worst. then only the first half day or so after tightening is bad, but not as bad as the first days.
