New Laptop has weird quirks !?!

I love my new laptop, really!!  But it does this weird thing when I rest my hand to the left of the mouse pad while typing; it's like I'm holding down the control key...text enlarges or shrinks, maps zoom in and out,  sometimes words or sentences just disappear or the cursor jumps to another place on the page.  I apologize if my comments appear

That sounds odd. I think it's time for a trip to get it fixed.

It IS odd! At first I thought I was hitting the control key and not realizing it, but I've been very cautious. It's under warranty so I'll probably be taking it in after the boys get finished with their summer college credit classes this summer (early July) so they don't need it for online homework.
