Really, Kermit/Miss Piggy are the fleece puppet version of Benedick/Beatrice from Much Ado About Nothing. Including that the other characters ALL secretly ship them. *lmao* <3

I also really liked Kermit and Miss Piggy from an early age! Come to think of it Miss Piggy was a pretty bad ass female role model.

There is criticism about the male-female ratio in the Muppets...but for me growing up watching 'em Miss Piggy was all the female role model I needed. She rocked! Very much secure in herself and happy to speak her mind.
I still remember the bit in 'Muppets Take Manhattan' where she crashed through the glass roof on a motorcycle (and wearing black leather, rawr XD) being my favourite of all. :D

Yeah, I guess they had more female muppets on sesame street but I never really thought about that for the muppet show. Miss Piggy was just so big it seemed to more than make up for it. (and a lot of the monsters seemed pretty genderless anyway). But I'm really glad you posted this as it totally explained a lot of things to me too!

Unfortunately the thing I remember most about Muppets take manhattan is that I was very upset about the "perm". Lols!
