I experience a moral dilemma every time I eat a gingerbread man. Where do I start? The head, to eliminate suffering? The legs because, well, it's just a cookie?

Interesting. I thought I might be the only weirdo who started at the head. I don't want the double-amputee staring at me the whole time.

Me either! I usually start at the head, because if I don't, I feel terrible.

Samuel was eating a gingerbread man this weekend, and the whole time he was talking about what the man was feeling. And he even started at the head!

By the time he got to the legs - still attached to each other - he said, "now I eat his butt!"

Nice mixture of amusing and appalling. I think I'll stick to baking non-anthropomorphic goodies from now on.

This is why I now make my gingerbreads in the shape of Daleks, because then I don't feel any bit of guilt about ex-term-in-eating them.
