Saskatoon learned from Brampton Transit. BT was first transit system in Canada to use Bio Diesel.

Also, Bio Diesel is only partly renewable. It still needs the Diesel part to power the engine.
The process of combining Canola oil and Diesel fuel costs more in way of manufacturing costs as well as clogged up fuel lines/filters because engine manufactures (Detroit Diesel and Cummins) are still dragging their feet on engines that can accept bio diesel with no problems.

Oh, very well said. I was not aware that it was only partly re-newable, I should have done my research before posting. Nonetheless, I find that very interesting.
And you were definitely not being a smart ass. You pointed out plain fact. I think it was very insightful for you to add your comment!! Thx for clairifying things.
Peace,
And take it easy.

No need for fact checking, im one of those know it all jerk types :P

Funny story with bio diesel though. Few years back when I was doing my student Co Op at BT, one of the refueling people accidentally overfilled a buses tank by setting the pumps for a full fill when it had half a tank left.

Needless to say much fuel was spilled and for the remainder of the day the storage garage, maintenance garage and the office reeked of french fries for the entire day. The smell got to me, and for weeks I was sick of the smell of them. Way to lose a love for a very tasty food.
