Old news, new place

When my friend and I first signed on to the Brampton community a while back there was, as always, talk that there was nothing to do here. I remember somebody suggested just choosing a place and gradually changing it's clientelle to 20 somethings so that there'd be a place to go that wasn't filled with ignorant youth or loud mouthed, empty headed, ( Read more... )

Well I certainly have no desire to visit the Rose Theatre. From what hear it's heinously overpriced. I only meant to site it as evidence of change downtown.

I'm not much of a juice man myself but I'll give Juice & Java a look when I'm down there next. Thanks for the input :)

I'm only going by what I've heard of course, and the high culture thing sounds about right. I was told the plan was to try and make it a sort of tourist attraction. Perhaps 'heinously overpriced' was an exaggeration but all the same it seems like the theatre really isn't meant to cater to the interests of locals as much as people who're away from home and will overlook the cost for a good night out.

But like I said, that's all speculation on my part.

The problem with downtown coffee shops is Cardinal Leger kids end up messing them up for everyone else
If there is a meet up, I would be willing to go meet people off of here, because most seem to be non-retarded
But I wouldn't expect the place to stay that way for very long =\
Is the place you're talking about where Fantasia Café used to be?

Actually I think it used to be some sort of Carribean food joint. Like almost everything else in this town it was so nondescript I don't think many people really noticed it from birth to passing. Like the brickyard they built the Brampton Corners mini-mall and surrounding housing district on, the movie theatre on Kennedy that's now some sort of party shop and the lesbian bar that used to be in downtown Brampton, assuming it's existence wasn't just a myth. I think I saw the place once, The Eager Beaver I believe it was called.

Anyway, you're right, it probably wouldn't last too long, assuming it ever took off in the first place. I wouldn't mind meeting some of the people on here either.
