The Rotary Glen is BEAUTIFUL and they do full packages, including reception, flowers etc.

http://www.rotaryglen.ca

Their website has all the info and pictures and the staff there are really nice. You can probably get a package for around $100 per person (cash bar would lower that price)

Worth checking out. :)

Thanks - that's one of the few sites we've found. It's a beautiful venue, but a little out of our budget. Unfortunately, because we want a Saturday wedding (due to out of town family), the best available price was around $95/person - based on 100 people (even though we'd only have 80...).

But Thanks again!

(Not that i know much about weddings or anything), but what about gage park? do they charge for wedding ceremonies? I know alot of people go there for wedding pictures and stuff? Maybe contact city hall and see if they can use that?

About photographs, just an idea. why dont you use facebook to hire a student photographer? im sure ALOT of people are looking for models (and i know its your wedding, but you could hire/ get 20 volenteers to do your wedding at the price of a normal wedding photographer?

I hope this aids in ideas, sorry i couldnt really help.
Goodluck!

Thanks. We did look into Gage park, as that was where we got engaged. They can do the ceremony for a reasonable price, so it's an option.

That's a good idea about the photographers - I'll look into that.

How many people are going is something people would need to know, to make some suggestions. Ching has a green house chapel that can hold 30 people, and you can rent the greenhouse as well. We did this in October and it was 100 dollars for 1 hour in the chapel, and 100 dollars for the greenhouse. It was very beautiful, I can show you some pictures.

We had our reception at my in-laws home, and set it up real nice and found this nice caterer for 10 bucks a person and the food was excellent (will get the name, just don't have it on hand.) I got a lot of information about the "cheap" but nice weddings for Brampton, just not on hand at the moment.

E-mail me at johnnyxeo at gmail.com or add that to msn and I can send you an e-mail back with websites and such we used, and flowers, etc

we had our wedding in our backyard and rented a tent from a place in Brampton (sorry, can't remember the name but they were on Bovaird). We used an officiant from www.allseasonsweddings.com and they were good and for photographers I HIGHLY recommend www.pattimillerphotography.com She does all our family photos and did my moms wedding this past summer.
Not sure if any of those fall within your budget however.
Good luck and congrats!

Oh oh...and if you hire someone to cater the event...tell them its a garden party to start. Then, once theyve given you the quote tell them its a wedding. That is what my mom did and it cut the price per head DRAMATICALLY

Thanks for the tips. After posting on Livejournal I've had a bunch of people recommend allseasonsweddings - and I hadn't even heard of it before. I've checked it out - great resource.

Thanks again!
