In a break from my regular transmissions, I am in a tiny little Island, called Gili Trawangan, off the North coast of Lombok in Indonesia. Tonight, in a rather random turn of events, I have spent eating Sashimi, and watching the seaside restaurants and bars get flooded by bloody huge waves - the aftermath of an earlier earthquake and Tsunami off

On the way back from writing this, there was a sea snake washed up by the waves, and under the bar huts. The locals were trying to get it out to sea again, and the cats (dogs are banned here, but there are zillions of really friendly cats) were prowling after it... Hope they were all ok, but I went to bed!
Been diving a lot here - came within about 5 feet of a 3 metre reef shark today. Was brilliant! At one point later there was a shark, a giant trevally (looks a bit like a big tuna...), another shark, and another trevally following each other around in circles near us. kewl.

Did you plan all of this or are you just going where the wind takes you? I'm off to Aus (Sydney) next Tuesday (26th Feb)so make sure you mail me when you get there. If we have an apartment by the time you get there you are most welcome to crash with us for free. We may not have any furniture for the first month or so-unless we get a furnished place-but we'll at least have a roof and bathroom! Keep in touch!

The whole thing is planned in rather broad strokes, with me filling in the details as I go along. I knew I was going to be in Bali, but after a few days in Kuta, and getting SICK of the touts, I up and left for this remote corner off Lombok. I'll TOTALLY get in contact. I'm crashing in Sadhbh's place for a bit - in on the 28th myself, but thank you ever so much for the offer!
Be good, and speak to you very soon :)
