Not so fun.

So I thought it would be ~fun~ for me and Mayah to take the bus somewhere today, seeing as a) the bus stops RIGHT in front of our house and we've never used it before and b) the exorbitant prices of gas in CT are currently making it so the bus fare for most trips is cheaper than the gas it would take to get there. Dude, screw buses. I tried 3x to take a bus from my apartment outside of Boston to Wal Mart, and I could NEVER do it right. The websites lie. Then I moved to just outside of Bangor, Maine and was like "I'll take the bus to work in the morning!" too bad the bus didn't run to the outer routes until like, 10 am. I didn't know this and waited literally 2 hours for the bus to show up. Cue being late for my first day of work.

Shit, if the websites lie then I'm DEFINITELY never trying it - it's baffling enough with the correct information supposedly in front of me, there's no way I'm winging it in the middle of nowhere haha. That is ri.dic.u.lous. about the buses in Maine, what a travesty of public transportation.

I've heard that the buses in Portland are decent, and the Bangor one is probably decent if you live IN the city, but yeah. It was pretty useless and terrible for me, but we didn't have a car so we had to make due. Now we're super rural and I drive 30 miles round trip to work every day, the grocery store is about 5 miles away (10 to the good one), Wal Mart is 40, Target is 90 =/ I loved the subway in Boston, so moving back to Maine was such a drag.

I dream of having a subway close by. *swoon* I would be ALL OVER public transportation (I HATE driving) if they wouldn't make it so damn hard to use!
