Chapter 1: Don't Pick Up Strange Women in the Road
Canada
17 June 09
The fog danced across the road as Draven drove his 1985 station wagon down Manchari Road. He was on his way home from another double shift at the Moonlight Diner and wanted just to crash onto his bed and get some sleep. As he drove, he suddenly saw a dark flash that resembled a small animal stop in front of his car, causing him to slam onto his brakes in an attempt to avoid what was on the road. As soon as the car came to a complete halt, he turned off the engine, and he dashed out of his car to identify what almost became road kill. Draven walked to in front of the bumper of his vehicle to see a trembling girl wrapped in a dark crimson satin cloak. The girl appeared to have a pale cappuccino skin tone and a pair of emerald green eyes that shone in the moon's haunting glow. Draven knelt beside her, taking off his own jacket and wrapping it around her small fragile body. Her emerald green eyes seemed to stare past his eyes and into his soul. She wondered why he'd stopped and why he was being so nice to her. She knew that once he found out the truth behind her, he'd live but right now she wanted to get to know this man.
"Are you okay, miss? I almost ran you over. Do you have a place to go?" Draven whispered to her, not wanting to upset her in her current state. She shook her head 'no' as her long auburn hair moved to cover her face, enhancing her already dark and mysterious look.
"Well since you seem to lack a place to stay right now, you can stay in my apartment, well at least until we find out your name and where you live. I have a spare bedroom and some clothes that you can borrow. Is that alright with you ma'am?" he quietly asked her. She nodded her head 'yes', knowing she needed a place to stay so she could recuperate for now. The mysterious girl moved her shaking form towards Draven's warm body, trying to bring up her own body temperature. Draven gently picked her up and carried her over to the passenger side of his station wagon. As he strapped her in, covering her with his jacket and her cloak. 'Have I met her before. She's so beautiful' he thought to himself as she moved over to the driver's side door and stepped inside, starting the engine and driving off, heading towards his bachelor pad. The girl continued to stare at Draven, this time smiling as she tried to speak.
"T-thank y-you m-mister," she whispered in a barely audible voice as she drifted off to sleep.
"No thanks needed hun. Goodnight sweetie," he whispered as he safely arrived at his apartment, wondering why someone could bring themselves to harm someone as innocent as she. She appeared to be the type of person who could never do anything wrong yet she was there in his car beaten and bruised. He tightly clenched the wheel in anger, turning his tan knuckles almost white. He could feel his other side trying to be released so he quickly calmed down and continued driving on his way. Twenty minutes later, he parked his station wagon next to his apartment with the sleeping girl still in the passenger seat. Draven turned off the car as quietly as possible and moved to her side of the car to carry her to his loft apartment. Once up to the top floor, he unlocked the front door and carried her as gracefully as possible to the guest room. As he moved to lay her down, she clung to him like a magnet frantically whispering, "Don't leave me.. please don't leave me." Confused by this fact that she was suddenly trusting him, Draven carefully laid her down onto the bed and moved to the other side of the bed to lay down beside her. He wrapped his muscular yet welcoming arms around the sleeping maiden, hoping that this night wasn't a dream.
Chapter 2: Secrets
The next morning, Draven awoke to find the girl missing from his embrace, causing him to panic. He quickly jumped off of his unmade plaid king size bed and ran out of the room, frantically searching for her. He checked in the other guest room and in the bathrooms yet there was absolutely no sign of her. Suddenly an aroma overloaded his senses, causing his stomach to growl uncontrollably. He noticed the smell was originating from the kitchen and headed swiftly into the kitchen. The first thing he saw was his plaid black and red bathrobe and her long flowing hair.
"What are you doing in here? You really didn’t have to cook breakfast- I would have done it myself."
"It’s okay monsieur. I do not mind. I am sorry that I borrowed your bathrobe but you were asleep and I didn’t want to disturb you but I probably guessed that you didn’t want to have a naked girl in your kitchen."
"It’s quite alright but may I ask what your name is?" he asked, looking into her beautiful eyes.
"My name is Serenity. What is yours, my hero?"
" I’m Draven and I’m not much of a hero. I just happened to find you and almost hit you. However once I saw how beautiful you were and all the bruises that you had… I had to save you," she said as his giant hand moved to cup her delicate cheek.
Serenity looked lovingly into Draven’s eyes as she finally responded. "Merci Draven. You saved me from death and I’m truly thankful for that," she said, letting her French accent come out.
"How did you get all of these bruises? What or who did I save you from?" he asked, wanting to know more about this mysterious goddess and what he had gotten himself into.
"Are you sure you want to know? It’s a long and quite difficult to tell."
"Serenity, I want to know about you and what I have to do is protect you but let’s go into the guest room," he said gently grasping her tiny hand in his rather large one and lead her to the vacant spare guest room.
"I guess I should start at the beginning of my sad tale. It’s usually a great place to start, especially with a story as intricate as mine. I know you may not believe this but I was born on February 14, 1808 in Paris, France, which explains why I have a slight accent. Well as a child, I was very sick. I wasn’t supposed to live past 18 years of age. After several years of going to every doctor trying to solve what was wrong with me, my father became desperate. Once he was leaving the twentieth doctor that we’d seen, he’d come across a mysterious man walking down the street. He told my father that he could cure me and he wanted nothing in return. Little did we know that this man was as your culture calls a vampire. The price for the cure were the deaths of my whole entire family and him making me one of the walking dead. He forced me to be his queen and we lived underground and kept our lives definitely quiet. It wasn’t before long that a vampire hunter came and killed my so-called husband sometime during the 1870’s.
"I was free to roam about or I thought I was until the time of Area 51 and fictional things such as that. Little did I know that vampires, werewolves and the like were being hunted down and forced to be a part of a mad scientist’s plan to destroy everything supernatural. I was caught in the 1980’s when I was trying to rob a blood bank. When they caught me, I soon became their favorite test subject. I was the first vampire that they had caught and they’d always had so many misconceptions of us, saying that we were freaks and believing all these old wives tales. They experimented on me every day or until they grew bored of me. While I was in lock-up, I met Daniel, who was a werewolf they’d held since the 1960’s. He managed to create a plan for me to escape after he heard their final experiment for me- they were going to plan how to kill me. Daniel produced a diversion and snuck me out of the facility. I ran for miles, ridding myself of everything that they could possibly track me with and I’d finally collapsed in front of your car and that brings us here. Don’t worry about my need for blood. I’ve had enough blood to last me for at least a month or so. Since I’m so old, I don’t need as much blood but that is my story."
Draven was at a loss for words after hearing her story and all the pain she endured. All he wanted to do was hold her In his arms and numb the pain, even for awhile.
"You’re safe with me Serenity. You’ll always be safe. I know you may not believe that I am able to protect you but I will try. I’ll even lay down my life."
"Maybe but how exactly can you protect me. I will NOT allow you to give up your life for me!" she said as she crawled onto Draven’s lap, holding onto him tightly.
"We all have secrets Serenity, even me… especially me. Let’s just say you aren’t the only supernatural ‘freak’ in here," he whispered, looking longingly into her eyes as his eyes turned from their usual gray color to a dull crimson color. " I’m a hybrid… a very dangerous combination of a fire demon and human. I’m a freak hun," he whispered, holding her close to his smooth, strong chest.

leave me some comments about how i can make it better
