I've got to agree with it being worse. If everything were simply an illusion and you couldn't possibly have a feeling; your whole status on life would be flipped upside down. You wouldn't want to live because this type of "hope, as we'll call it, is the only thing that keeps me from stabbing myself in the eyes with spoons.

I do love the way you interject God and Santa in the same sentence, as if it were seemingly the most obvious choice. It's very branden-esque. I'm going to shoot myself for using esque now.
